About Well-Made Books
We publish high-quality hardcover editions of essential literature — the kind of books you keep, lend, and pass along. Every volume is typeset with the same care readers expect from the best literary publishers.
Our editions
Each Neat Books volume is set in EB Garamond, based on the 1592 specimen of Claude Garamond's types. Chapter openings follow classical conventions: generous sinks, small-caps first lines, and the Aldus leaf (❧) as a section ornament.
Our linen hardcovers are bound with foil-stamped spines and wrapped in full-color dust jackets. The interior is printed on 60# acid-free cream paper. Every edition includes an introduction, endnotes, and a colophon describing the typeface and production.
Choose your cloth
Every title is available in six linen cloth colors. Choose the binding that fits your shelf — or mix them across a collection.
Built to last
The best books deserve bindings that outlive their owners. We combine professional typesetting, quality materials, and a consistent series identity across every title in the catalog — so your shelf looks as good in twenty years as it does today.
